Flutter Core Team Announces Global 2026 Tour: Key Events Released Ahead of Major SDK Updates

The Flutter core team is hitting the road in 2026 with a global tour designed to engage developers directly ahead of the upcoming releases of Dart 3.12 and Flutter 3.44. The schedule, released today, includes stops in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, with the first major event kicking off at Google Cloud Next in Las Vegas in April.

This tour marks the first time the Flutter team has organized such an extensive in-person outreach initiative, signaling a renewed focus on community-driven development. The team aims to gather real-time feedback, showcase live demos, and strengthen ties with the developer ecosystem.

“We’re bringing the entire core team to meet developers where they are — whether that’s at a conference in Malaga, a meetup in Tokyo, or a hackathon in Bengaluru,” said Tim Sneath, Flutter Product Manager. “The most impactful moments of my career have come from community-led events. We want to replicate that energy globally.”

Among the highlighted stops are Google I/O in Sunnyvale (May 19–20), Flutterconf Spain in Malaga (May 8), and Fluttercon USA in Orlando (July 16–17). The full list also includes events in Prague, Warsaw, Berlin, Bengaluru, Shanghai, Atlanta, Stockholm, Cancún, Tokyo, and more.

The tour is expected to attract tens of thousands of developers, from independent coders to enterprise teams building multi-platform applications. The team has also confirmed that Google Developer Experts will be present at many events to offer hands-on guidance.

Background

The Flutter team has been under increasing pressure to deliver a more responsive and feature-rich framework. The upcoming releases of Dart 3.12 and Flutter 3.44 are expected to bring improvements in performance, full-stack capabilities, and ephemeral experience development.

Historically, much of Flutter’s growth has come from online communities and documentation. However, team leaders believe that in-person interaction is essential for solving complex developer pain points and building trust. The tour is part of a broader strategy to expand the contributor base and shorten feedback loops.

What This Means

For developers, this tour represents a rare opportunity to speak directly with the engineers and designers shaping the future of Flutter. Attendees can expect to influence the roadmap by providing feedback on APIs, performance issues, and tooling.

The tour also signals that Google is doubling down on Flutter as a first-class framework for cross-platform development. Enterprises evaluating Flutter for production apps should view this as a sign of long-term commitment and investment in community infrastructure.

For those unable to attend in person, the team plans to live-stream select sessions and publish recap materials on Flutter.dev’s Events page. The team is also open to adding new locations — developers hosting meetups in cities not yet listed are encouraged to reach out.
